Plenty Of Thrills On Capitol Heel This Past Weekend

Naomi Biden wedding ceremony

President Joe Biden’s eldest granddaughter, Naomi Biden, married her fiancé, Peter Neal, in a private ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House this past Saturday morning. While the weather was chilly, by all accounts the service was warmly intimate and moving. Both the bride and groom wore attire by Ralph Lauren; It’s been said that Naomi’s dress evoked images of the late and regal Grace Kelly at her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier III.Mr. and Mrs. Neal both are said to have worn Tiffany and Co. jewelry. Certainly each looked gorgeous!

Naomi Biden Wedding

A luncheon for family and the wedding party was held in the White House immediately after the service, followed later that evening by a black-tie reception with dessert and ‘kick up your heels’ dancing. The Biden family made it clear that they paid for the wedding, as has been the custom with other private functions hosted at the White House by first families. Naomi Biden’s wedding was the first at the White House since 2013, and only the 19th time in its history that a wedding has taken place at the White House.

This weekend was special for the Biden family for more than one reason. President Biden also celebrated his 80th birthday Sunday, when First Lady Jill Biden hosted a birthday brunch that included President Biden’s favorite coconut cake. A wedding for his beloved granddaughter, Naomi, on Saturday, a milestone birthday for the family patriarch on Sunday…pretty good reasons for a little heel kicking up at the White House over the weekend.
