But Republican politicians say, “You will not take our guns away.”

Schools across the country have banned books at the urging of the conservative right.
Republican politicians say, “You will not take our guns away.”
Anti-abortion laws in conservative leaning states threaten women’s agency over their bodies and reproductive rights.
And Republican politicians say, “You will not take our guns away.”
There are more guns than people in the USA.
Still Republican politicians say, “You cannot take our guns away.’
The NRA grades politicians A-F based on their support; the children slain in Uvalde, Texas will never receive their final grades.
Of course Republican politicians say, “You cannot take our guns away.”

The families of 19 children and 2 teachers in Uvalde are planning funerals and memorial services for their slain loved ones, while the NRA hosts its annual convention less than 300 miles away in Dallas; former President Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Gov. Kristi Noem spoke at the NRA convention; clearly it didn’t seem too soon to glorify the NRA, believing as
Republican politicians who say, “You will not take our guns away.”
Support of the bastardized 2nd Amendment has muted the voices of reason and morality.
But still Republican politicians say, “You will not take our guns away.”
Expressions of prayers and thoughts for the victims and their families have become meaningless, ashes in the mouths of those politicians who block any effort at sensible gun control laws because they fear the loss of financial support of the NRA and its backers.
Republican politicians continue to say, “We will not take your guns away.”
How many children are expendable? How many Black men? We are told laws prohibiting abortion will save the lives of unborn babies- but what of the babies, children, young adults lost to gun violence daily? What is the value of those lives lost?
And still, still, still Republican politicians say, “We will not take any guns away.”

So well said. It is just so sad. And just such irresponsible leadership.
Our children are sacrificial lambs for our love of weaponry… Thank you, Jane. This needed to be written.
