“I am untouchable” on a spiritual level, at least that’s what I would tell myself if I meditated more often. Yes, I would love to center myself in the blissful state of being that Buddha describes. However, as a mother and a businesswoman (and maybe with a touch of ADHD), I can’t always find the time or desire to meditate without slipping into an inner monologue of what’s on my week’s grocery list, or what is happening on the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé. Therefore, I decided to multitask and delve into yoga so not only will I achieve inner enlightenment through meditation, but also hopefully, a more toned and sexy body. After a few weeks of practicing yoga, my inner monologue turned from “this is so hard, I can’t do this position,” to a completely quiet mind. Yoga has a spiritual power that shuts the mind down and quiets the spirit, which in turn leads to a more peaceful spiritual life. I like to think of myself as a spiritual gangster, calling upon that inner peace, guidance and wisdom coming from somewhere deep inside. Pulling beliefs from many different faiths (and some deep conversations with a few close friends), I am a true badass when it comes to remaining calm in the face of anxiety and stress. Although I falter, I make a conscious effort for this higher spirituality. Lately, I’ve been wearing this adorable hoodie with pride (it’s a reminder to breathe in peace, release the rest).

I don’t know if any of us in today’s world will ever achieve the enlightenment that Buddha did, but I choose to live in my version of that wonderful, peaceful  and serene state of spirituality.
