Inside every magazine we highlight women in politics in our Capitol Heel ‘Feeture.’ Due to it’s popularity we’ve decided to do briefings of items we couldn’t put into the magazine. We’re marking the occasion with the history of women in politics on this day.
On January 21, 1954, fur coat clad First Lady, Mamie Eisenhower, launched the Nautilus, the world’s first nuclear submarine; making her the first US President’s wife to ever christen a nuclear submarine in Naval history.

On January 21, 2017, thousands and thousands of people poured into the Capitol for the Women’s March on Washington to protest against the new administration and its perceived threat to reproductive, civil and human rights; even as 3 million more in cities across the US and the world marched in solidarity to this protest.

You can read about women in politics inside every Ms. Heel Magazine. In our Jan/Feb magazine, it’s all about From Capitol Heel With Love. Read it here
