We stumbled across this poem and thought it was so poetic and perfect for this Mother’s Day. As an avid reader of our magazine, you already know, we’ll go there on tough subjects-an homage to your uterus is just that. Hence, this month’s poem written by the late great poet, Lucille Clifton. She was a mother of six and a two time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for poetry. We accompanied her haunting words with a beautiful sketch from our photo editor, Kevin Schaefer. Happy Mother’s Day Ms. Heel.
